Unwavering in style throughout its existence, you will find restraint, poise and elegance in this medium bodied and very old school red from Tyrrell's. Tyrrell’s is one of Australia’s most historic and celebrated wine estates, established in 1858 by English immigrant Edward Tyrrell in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales. Still family-owned and operated, it is now run by the fifth generation, with Chris Tyrrell leading the estate into a new era while preserving its deep traditions.
The vineyards span some of the Hunter Valley’s most prized sites, including blocks of Semillon and Shiraz planted in the 19th century. The estate is especially renowned for its Semillon, considered a benchmark style worldwide for its purity, longevity and transformation with age. Shiraz, Chardonnay and other classic varieties are also central to the portfolio, crafted with a focus on freshness, elegance and regional character.
Tyrrell’s continues to champion sustainable viticulture and minimal-intervention winemaking, using hand harvesting, gentle handling and thoughtful oak to highlight the quality of fruit and vineyard expression. Their wines embody both heritage and modern precision, making Tyrrell’s a true icon of Australian wine.
