Tasting Notes
This is a lovely Grillo from Sicily, mid-weight, layered with ripe citrus and sea spray coating the mouth with waves of citrus oil, pith and bergamot. The wine is still fresh and very moreish. - Pete L
Valdibella is a co-operative winery in Camporeale, Sicily - the hills outside Palermo in the west of the island. Here they have more of an African climactic influence than a Mediterranean one, where the soils are sandy and the landscape dry. The vineyards are farmed organically with a focus on soil health and canopy management to grow nutrient dense, high quality fruit. Plantings include: Nero d’Avola, Perricone, Nerello Mascalese, Grillo, Catarratto and Zibibbo. The wines are produced naturally with no to low sulfur added. This is no ordinary co-op.
