Many of us are regular Pinot drinkers these days, and we’re looking for those gems with a little more intrigue and complexity on offer. Here is one answer! This Tassie Pinot is built on spices and Australian flora, not just silky red fruits. The characteristics carry through from smell to taste; and then add some very fine chalky tannins to finish long and moorish - and then the bottle was empty. More please! 12.5% alc. - Michael L
Piero Pignatti Morano moved from Sydney hospitality to the Huon Valley in Tasmania over the COVID-19 years for a change of pace, scene and lifestyle. Here he farms a small vineyard entirely by hand and everything in the winery is also carried out by hand, and bucket. The vineyard is farmed organically and the wines are elevated with no additions or subtractions - wild ferment, unfined, unfiltered and commonly unsulfured. These are captivating wines full of intrigue and life. They differ greatly from the mainstream wines of Tasmania yet they are still clean expressions of place. I can't wait to see where Piero's venture leads...
