Tasting Notes
Gee this is cool! It's also a really good wine! The Piggy Pop Pet Nat is made from Nero d'Avola from the Riverland so the resulting wine has plenty of richness that is balanced by refreshing acidity and a drying finish. It's half pet nat, half lambrusco, and definitely deserves a good serving of charcuterie for ultimate enjoyment. Serve chilled. - Chris L
Tim Wildman MW is a British-born Master of Wine who has become one of the most original and energetic voices in Australian wine. After extensive experience in the UK wine trade, Tim launched his own winemaking projects in South Australia, where he produces vibrant, playful wines with a focus on pétillant-naturel.
His labels, including Astro Bunny and Piggy Pop, are made from Mediterranean varieties such as Nero d’Avola, Zibibbo, Vermentino and Muscat, sourced from old vineyards in the Riverland and McLaren Vale. The wines are fermented naturally, bottled without fining or filtration, and designed for pure, unpretentious enjoyment.
While fun in spirit, Tim’s approach is deeply thoughtful—championing alternative grape varieties, low-intervention methods, and sustainable viticulture. His pét-nats have gained a cult following for their freshness, energy and sense of adventure, and they showcase a side of Australian wine that is modern, creative and full of personality.
