PRODUCER PROFILE: NGERINGA
Janet and Erinn Klein started Ngeringa in the Adelaide Hills with one aim - to produce the greatest wine possible without compromising their ethics and values. The land was originally part of the famous biodynamic Jurlique herb farm and has been farmed this way for 40 years. Today, it is home to close-planted vines and roaming Scottish Highland cows, sheep, chickens, a heritage orchard and extensive native revegetation which help promote a thriving ecosystem. They work the vines with the rhythms of the seasons and take no shortcuts in the winemaking to produce wines with energy and vitality that are true reflections of the land and vintage that they came from.
We tasted through a range of these wines with the winemaker a few weeks ago and genuinely believe that these are some of the best wines coming out of the Adelaide Hills, stocking up on 4 dozen of each of these wines. The '25 'Sheoak Chardonnay' is made of a few different parcels and aged in 30% new French oak for 9 months to create a wine with ridiculous complexity and tension for the price - arguably the best value Chardonnay in the country. The '24 'Sheoak Pinot Noir' shows delicate red fruits and savouriness that is rarely found in Pinot at this price, much unlike the many juicy fruity Pinots that come out of the Hills. Finally, the '23 'Sheaok Syrah' employs about 30% whole bunches to create a deeply textured and fragrant rendition. These wines are absolutely superb and great value - stock up on these!

DISCOVERY POUR: GINO PEDROTTI SCHIAVA NERA
This week, we want you to discover the beauty of Alto-Adige's red grape - Schiava Nera. This is a unique grape that produces high-acid, light to medium-bodied wines with delicate red and darker fruits, spice and floral characteristics. I tasted this at a trade tasting earlier this year with over 100 wines and this was the one I wanted in the store most. From a region best known for its white wines, discover the hidden gem of the red Schiava Nera! - Aaron.

JUST IN
Joh. Jos. Prüm
Joh. Jos. Prüm are without a doubt the most recognisable producer of Mosel Riesling out there. Prüm have remained at the summit of the Mosel Riesling scene for decades, thanks not only to special sites, but also to ideal picking at optimal ripeness (and many, many passes through the vineyard), low yields, ungrafted vines and harvesting only the best grapes. All these factors contribute to the signature Prüm style of ripe fruits and a beautiful body that seems to have presence and be weightless at the same time. It is worth noting that 90% of the Estate’s vines are ungrafted with an average age exceeding 60 years and there are a number of key parcels with an average vine age of 70-100+ years.
We've just picked up the excellent wines from the cooler 2024 vintage after tasting them the other month with some amazing Chinese food. We also have some bottles left from the warmer 2023 vintage for an interesting stylistic comparison. Don't miss out on everyone's favourite Mosel Riesling!

Dr. Edge
Saturday 8th
3pm - 6pm
Join us this Saturday for a tasting of the exciting cool-climate wines of Dr Edge - the personal project of Tasmanian winemaker Peter Dredge who will be pouring his wines for you.
Peter has impressive experience working under Brian Croser back in the day for Petaluma as well as being the head winemaker for Tasmanian sparkling powerhouses House of Arras and Bay of Fires. He has a knowledge of Tasmanian sites that few if any other winemakers have having worked with growers from every corner of the island. His winemaking is all about fruit purity, forgoing heavy extraction or new oak influence.
These are the wines that he'll be pouring for you: Brut Nature, Riesling, Clay Matured Chardonnay, Barrique Matured Chardonnay, Concrete Matured Pinot Noir and Barrique Matured Pinot Noir.
Don't miss out on meeting the man himself!
