Ravensworth
Estate Release Tasting
15th June 3-6PM
Join us this Saturday for a tasting of one of the best producers in NSW - Ravensworth. Bryan Martin started this winery after some work with Clonakilla (the other top producer in NSW) and brought across valuable experience and knowledge of the local sites in Murrambatemen. Bryan has a range of wines that appeal to both the more traditional classic drinker, as well as some more experimental wines for those that want to branch out. He does not make a single bad wine. This is the lineup we'll have on pour for you all this Saturday:
Ravensworth Estate Riesling
Ravensworth The Grainery Field Blend
Ravensworth 7 Months (Orange)
Ravensworth Estate Gamay
Ravensworth Estate Sangiovese
Ravensworth Estate Shiraz/Viognier
This is a great opportunity to support NSW wines and steal the limelight that VIC and SA have been soaking in for too long. This is also a great chance to simply drink some great wine. See you all on Saturday. - Aaron C.

Shobbrook
Tom Shobbrook is making some of the most exciting natural wines coming out of Flaxman Valley - a subregion of the famous Eden Valley. All of these wines are made by hand from organically grown fruit. The vineyards are located 540m above sea level with soil of sandy loam over yellow-orange clay with Tom aiming to make wines that are lean and tight with great acidity. Those looking for a refreshing take on things from what is typical of the Barossa Zone ought to look no further. I have selected 3 fantastic wines below as an introduction to Tom's wines. - Aaron C.

Place Of Changing Winds
Place of Changing Winds has already crept their way into the upper echelon of Australian producers after having only been around for a few years. Based in the majestic Macedon Ranges, they have already earned the right to be talked about alongside the likes of Bindi as not only the best producers of Pinot and Chardonnay from the region, but in the whole country.
Place of Changing Winds grow Pinot Noir and Chardonnay on the estate in a high-density vineyard at the foothills of the Macedon Ranges at an altitude of 500m surrounded by thousands of hectares or native forest. This is a genuinely cool site, with good rain, cold nights and a wide diurnal range - the perfect conditions for Burgundian style Pinot and Chardonnay. The average planting density is about 12,000-14,000 vines per hectare, but there are portions of the vineyards that are planted at a density of 20,000, 25,000 and 33,000 vines per hectare, forcing competition amongst the roots to create wines of finesse and complexity.
A system of agronomic practice has been developed that is adapted specifically to the site and involves no synthetic sprays of any kind and a large deal of manual labour. Everything is managed on site from the growing through to bottling, and the cellar is right next to the vineyard meaning that grapes go directly into the fermenters within a few minutes.
Place of Changing Winds also produces Syrah and Marsanne from two vineyards further north: one vineyard is located in the Heathcote region, on the famed red ‘Cambrian’ soils of the Mt Camel Ranges which is a considerably warmer site than the estate vineyard and lies about 130km north of the cellars, the second vineyard is in Harcourt, 85km to the north which is cooler than Heathcote, yet still warmer than the Estate, and the soils here are pure, granitic sands. The goal has always been to produce wines of great finesse, perfume, and drinkability from both places.
We've managed to obtain a nice allocation of these wines from the 2022 vintage for you all. From the estate range we have the "Between Two Mountains" Pinot (and 1 magnum) and the "Larderdark" Chardonnay which are must-haves for lovers of Burdundian style Pinot and Chardonnay. We also have some of the "Tradition" red and whites (and magnums of each) which are blends of all their red (Pinot Noir and Syrah) and white grapes (Chardonnay, Marsanne and Roussane), respectively. These are fantastic wines that showcase the estate's propensity for experimentation as well. Anyone wanting to be in the loop with Australia's most cutting-edge producers ought not to miss out on this offer! - Aaron C.
