Collection: Al di la del Fiume
Al di là del Fiume (“Beyond the River”) is a small, artisanal estate in Emilia-Romagna, located in the hills near Marzabotto, just south of Bologna. Founded by Nicola and his family, the project is deeply rooted in biodynamic principles, with a philosophy that sees the farm as a living organism. The estate cultivates not only vineyards but also grains, vegetables, and medicinal herbs, with a holistic approach that places biodiversity and soil vitality at the centre of their work.
The vineyards, set on clay-limestone and sandstone soils, are planted to indigenous varieties such as Albana, Grechetto Gentile (Pignoletto), Barbera, and rare local grapes, all farmed biodynamically and harvested by hand. In the cellar, the approach is minimal intervention: spontaneous fermentations, little or no sulphur, long macerations for whites, and ageing in amphora, concrete, or neutral oak.
The resulting wines are soulful and expressive, often textured and unfiltered, with a character that speaks more of place and philosophy than of convention. Al di là del Fiume has become a reference point in Emilia-Romagna’s natural wine movement, producing bottlings that are authentic, vibrant and full of life.
