Tasting Notes
Terrifyingly delicious orange wine from Emilia Romagna biodynamicists Al di la del Fiume. Quite a mouthful... but so is the wine! 100% Albana fermented on skins in Amphora for 3 months which really balances out the natural sweetness residing in this wine. Textural as expected and succulently fruited, typical of Albana. - Chris L
Al di là del Fiume consists of a small 2 hectare plot of vines nestled in Emilia Romagna, but is part of a farm dubbed 'Danila Mongardi' which is so much more than just a vineyard. Danila and Adriano Zago have managed to create their own biodynamic paradise, a farm that advocates the passion between people and the power of the earth ‚– and as such have created a social farming model. Here inclusive agricultural production methods are embraced as the overall 27 hectares of land act as a multifunctional, educational, recreational and artistic hub. The vines are farmed biodynamically, spend time in Tuscan terracotta amphora and see absolutely no additions, and as such express the full ethos behind Danila and Adriano's passion for biodynamics. - Importer Note
