Tasting Notes
Jobard's Meursault-Blagny comes from a 0.5-hectare parcel in La Pièce sous le Bois, another vineyard at the very top of the slope, this time above Puligny (on the far edge of Meursault). Although his stony terroir sits at 300-350 metres and suffers cold winters, the vineyard picks up plenty of sun during the summer. Jobard tends two parcels; half old vines planted in the 1930s, the other half replanted in 2009. Buffeted by the cool winds, this site is picked later than Les Genevrières and co. and yet thanks to rocky soils, the old vines and low yields, remains a pulsating and crystalline expression of Meursault as the note below captures. - Importer Note
