Tasting Notes

Ripe, regal and round.

Uninspired by the Bordeaux classification of 1855 that still stands today. Bord-o breaks the constructs of tradition. The fruit is carbonically-fermented Cabernet Sauvignon from a high-altitude vineyard in Orange, NSW. The wine is aged in old barrels for 18 months and bottled unfined, unfiltered and unsulfured.

Bord-o has trademark Cabernet cassis and leafiness without the oak influence of sweet spice. The palate is voluminous and ripe, with luscious fruit tannins that linger. It is soft and full, and easy to drink.

CLO is a micro-vigneron in NSW. Chris Loth sources fruit from growers in Orange and Tumbarumba, but also manages a vineyard of his own in Tumbarumba. The grapes are grown in high altitude vineyards of varying soil types and micro-climates, each yielding a unique character. The grapes are handpicked and fermented wild in a variety of vessels with out any additions. Elevage is at minimum 18 months before being bottled unfined, unfiltered and unsulfured. They are each full of character, as represented by the expressions on the labels, and are exciting and interesting drinks. Clean and stable too.

A Great Little Drop

I cannot describe wines. I just know what I like - and this one I love! My neighbour and I shared a bottle of CLO Bord-o on Monday night and we were both wrapt. So enjoyable to drink. And - the next morning we both felt great. No nasty after-effects from the wine.
Hope you’ve got plenty in stock, Annandale Cellars!
