Tasting Notes
One of my favourite Champagne for the dollar. Delamotte is aligned with the super premium Champagne Salon. Salon is only produced in superb vintages, so when it isn't all the fruit goes into the Delamotte range... hence why these Champagne punch well above there weight. The Brut NV changes in cepage each year, but generally speaking it is Chardonnay dominant followed by lesser parts of Pinot Noir and lesser parts again of Pinot Meunier. It spends around 36-40 months on lees, which is over double the required time making it super elegant and fine. The high yet balanced acidity keeps it fresh and ideal as an aperitif. - Chris L
Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize and Oger are villages where Chardonnay lights up the landscape. This delicate variety, confronted in the Côte des Blancs with a striking terroir, finds here the perfect combination to preserve its freshness intact over time. Champagne Delamotte expresses to perfection the characteristics of this noble variety. Light, gossamer-textured, impertinent, more complex with ageing, discrete yet present, heady but not heavy. Champagne at any time, for any occasion.
Maison Delamotte has been a benchmark in Champagne since 1760. The firm's wine is among those preferred by the Champenois who recognise consistent quality and unflagging respect for the terroir and the Côte des Blancs. It is in the choice of Champagne Delamotte that the hedonist, the lover of subtle pleasures, stands out from the crowd. Fashionable but never stereotyped, their choice is produced with great care and passion in a place where nature is expressed most openly. This is luxury perhaps in the truest sense of the word. - Winery Note
