Tasting Notes
A delicious Rhone blend made from old vine Grenache, Cinsault and Carignan. It has a generous fruit profile, spicy white pepper tones and Mediterranean herb lift. It's the perfect summer BBQ red or a stand-alone winter warmer. - Gaby F
Domaine Marc Kreydenweiss is a pioneering biodynamic estate in Andlau, Alsace, with family roots in the region dating back to the 18th century. Since the late 1970s, Marc Kreydenweiss has been at the forefront of natural and terroir-driven viticulture, converting the domaine to biodynamics in 1989—making it one of Alsace’s earliest adopters. Today, the estate is led by Marc’s son Antoine, who continues the family’s commitment to crafting wines of purity and expression.
The domaine farms around 13 hectares of vineyards spread across some of Alsace’s most distinctive terroirs, including the Grand Cru sites Kastelberg, Wiebelsberg and Moenchberg, where soils of schist, granite and sandstone impart character and nuance to the wines. Riesling is the flagship, joined by Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, Muscat, Sylvaner and Pinot Noir. Farming is meticulous and natural, with horses used for ploughing and preparations applied according to lunar cycles.
In the cellar, fermentations are native, intervention is minimal, and élevage is tailored to highlight texture and minerality. The wines are celebrated for their precision, balance and longevity, capturing both the aromatic depth of Alsace and the clarity of each site.
Domaine Kreydenweiss stands as a reference point for biodynamic viticulture in Alsace, producing soulful wines that reflect both their ancient soils and the family’s forward-thinking vision.
