Tasting Notes
A new producer from Murrambateman, just down the road from Clonakilla. This young vine sangiovese (with a touch of shiraz) rose shows, after a short opening period, fruity characters to smell and taste, with fine acid support. Very drinkable with all sorts of casual food. Michael L
The small Gounyan vineyard is located just outside Murrembateman in the Canberra District (NSW).the vineyard is owned and operated by Roger Johnstone and Deirdre Macken, and the wines are made by Alex McKay of Collector Wines. The vineyard is planted to Riesling, Shiraz/Syrah and Sangiovese on the classic granite soils of the region.
