Tasting Notes
Light straw in colour, a definite note of hay on the nose, yet floral. The palate shows a discrete hint of tea followed by peach and pear characters that are given a lift by signature Soave acidity. Delicous! - Ken V
My first thought was the fruitiness of this Soave; fresh but rounder in style. Think party or casual style, with lower acidity sometimes found in the Garganega grape. Inama wants his Soave Classico grapes to be in the riper end, keeping the fruit fresh. The US Wine Advocate quotes Inama: "There is a big mistake people make in talking about freshness," says Matteo Inama. "They say: 'I want a fresh wine.' We want a complete wine. Garganega is not a very high-acid grape. If you want a Soave with high acidity, you have to pick too early and the wine is not complete. It's as if you wasted the work you did all year. Our wines are round and expressive. Well, good news is if you want a Soave for more serious eating - there are other producers who make great versions with balancing acidity too. - Michael L
