Tasting Notes
Isole e Olena produce one of the best Vin Santo's in Italy. This wine is sweet and made for cheese or desserts. The grapes are harvested and dried on straw mats which concentrates the flavours and sugars but it also focuses the acidity. When served with cheese (as we suggest) the wine is powerful and present yet it sits alonside the cheese. We suggest hard cheeses like cheddar or parmesan. - Chris L
A small Chianti house with a reputation for producing some of the purest, most classical wines in the region. The owner and winemaker, Paolo de Marchi has been described as almost maniacal in his attention to detail in both his vineyards and his wine production. Isole also produce their own 'Super Tuscan' called Cepparello which is usually 100% Sangiovese. This is regularly spoken about as one of Tuscany's finest and most elegant wines. - Importer Note
