Tasting Notes
This Bourgogne Blanc offers a lively introduction to Faiveley’s Côte de Beaune style, with aromas of crisp apple, citrus zest and white flowers over a subtle mineral frame. The palate is fresh and well-balanced, showing juicy orchard fruit and a touch of almond, carried by bright acidity and a clean, chalky finish. Pure, elegant and versatile, it captures both immediacy and finesse in a classic white Burgundy style. - Chris L
Domaine Faiveley is one of Burgundy’s largest and most respected family domaines, founded in 1825 and still family-owned, now led by Erwan Faiveley and his sister Eve. Based in Nuits-Saint-Georges, the domaine oversees more than 120 hectares of vineyards stretching from the Côte Chalonnaise to the Côte de Nuits, with holdings in many of Burgundy’s most celebrated crus, including grands crus such as Clos de Vougeot, Corton, Mazis-Chambertin and Musigny.
Viticulture is sustainable and increasingly organic, with meticulous attention to low yields, old vines and precise harvesting. In the cellar, Faiveley has moved toward a more refined style over the last two decades: fermentations are carefully managed, new oak is used judiciously, and extraction is more restrained, producing wines that balance depth and power with finesse and clarity.
The range is remarkably broad, from accessible Bourgogne-level bottlings to long-lived premiers and grands crus, but the unifying thread is a sense of polish, terroir expression and reliability. Domaine Faiveley remains a benchmark for Burgundy, combining historic scale with the focus and precision of a family deeply invested in the region’s future.
