Tasting Notes
Each year Muscat grapes are harvested at high sugar levels. This wine is then transferred into barrels and casks of different volumes for several years (anything between 5 and 50 years). These parcels of varying ages are then blended together prior to bottling, to create the perfect balanced wine, for drinking now. This Muscat is a wonderful example of Rutherglen Classic Muscat.
An aromatic bouquet of florals and raisins follows on to the rich and luscious palate, lingering long after the wine has been enjoyed. Muscat is regarded as the world”s RICHEST wine. - Winemaker Note
Pfiffér Wines is a family-owned Rutherglen producer with deep roots in one of Australia’s most historic wine regions. The estate is known for its commitment to both innovation and tradition, producing a wide range that spans crisp table wines through to the fortified classics that have defined Rutherglen for generations. Their vineyards, planted on the region’s warm, sunny slopes and fertile soils along the Murray River, are carefully managed to balance ripeness and freshness in this distinctive climate.
Pfiffér has built a reputation in particular for its fortified wines, especially Topaque and Muscat, celebrated for richness, complexity and regional authenticity. Alongside these, the family produces approachable varietals and blends that reflect both Rutherglen’s heritage and a modern Australian sensibility. The philosophy is centred on careful vineyard work, respect for the land, and crafting wines that offer generosity, character and a clear sense of place.
