Tasting Notes
Each year Muscat grapes are havested at high sugar levels. This wine is then transferred into barrels and casks of different volumes (generally for anything between 2 and 5 years for this Rutherglen classification). These parcels are then blended to produce youthful, fresh wines some some complexity and concentrated flavours.
The Pfeiffer Rutherglen Muscat is a fine example of this classifiction and displays floral and raisin fruit and a rich, luscious palate. - Winemaker Note
Pfiffér Wines is a family-owned Rutherglen producer with deep roots in one of Australia’s most historic wine regions. The estate is known for its commitment to both innovation and tradition, producing a wide range that spans crisp table wines through to the fortified classics that have defined Rutherglen for generations. Their vineyards, planted on the region’s warm, sunny slopes and fertile soils along the Murray River, are carefully managed to balance ripeness and freshness in this distinctive climate.
Pfiffér has built a reputation in particular for its fortified wines, especially Topaque and Muscat, celebrated for richness, complexity and regional authenticity. Alongside these, the family produces approachable varietals and blends that reflect both Rutherglen’s heritage and a modern Australian sensibility. The philosophy is centred on careful vineyard work, respect for the land, and crafting wines that offer generosity, character and a clear sense of place.
