Tasting Notes
From the moment you see the dark, inky purple colour of this wine, you know you're in for something exciting. Blended from Syrah (40%) and two lesser-known varietals, common to the Gaillac appellation - Braucol (30%) and Duras (30%) - this wine sits firmly in the full-bodied range. Aromas of licorice and sweet spice underpinned by ripe plums, cassis and dark, blue fruits. The palate is a mouth-filling explosion of dark, ripe fruit brought to an elegant conclusion by fine acid and dusty tannins. It's also on the palate that you really notice the age of the wine, with some gamey leather notes coming through. Drinking beautifully now, this is not one to miss! - Felix G
