Tasting Notes
A blend of Montepulciano and Sangiovese (60%-40% approx) make up this tasty pizza wine from the Marche region in Italy. Fermented and aged in concrete to retain the freshness and vitality of these two grape varieties. Red fruited with other elements of dried herb and a dash of cocoa. It's grown mainly on sand and this is evident through it's fine grain tannin structure. Well integrated and a real over achiever. - Chris L
Fattoria San Lorenzo is based in the Marche region in central Italy. Here the Crognaletti family have farmed their land organically and biodynamically, and by hand for three generations, ensuring that nature is put above all else. They produce wines that are pure and pristine at all levels. They are known best for their production of Verdicchio, a local white grape variety, which is treated with different lengths of lees ageing depending on the cuvee (the higher the price, the longer the ageing on lees). This lees ageing adds complexity to the wines, which are beautifully balanced with their fruit profiles. They also make a little bit of red wine too.
