Tasting Notes

From a 2ha vineyard situated about 2km from the Hochkirch property, John acquired and has been producing wine from the estate since 2009. This is lighter in style than the Maximus and has red fruit character where Maximus has dark fruit, Volnay compared with Gevrey perhaps? In any case this is in the zone too and delivers a sensual experience of cherry, strawberry, sous-bois, forest and earth. Superb.

Distributor Note:

Tarrington Vineyard is a close-planted biodynamic vineyard just 2km from Hochkirch that was established by Tamara Irish and Dianne Nagorcka in 1993. Nine clones were used for the Pinot Noir and 4 clones for the Chardonnay. The vines are un-irrigated and efforts taken not to disturb the natural populations of fungi, worms and frogs. It is now owned John Nagorcka of Hochkirch and he has been making the wines since 2010.
