Tasting Notes
I've tried two Italian Chardonnay's in as many months and each time been really impressed! Certainly different in style to the French or even what we do down here but very enjoyable. This wine just spends time in stainless steel so its retaining freshness and energy whilst still capturing the hallmark salinity that comes off the vineyards that Tenuta Mazzolino farm. There's a salted citrus character that compliments the harder orchard fruit spectrum the wine sits in. Really cool wine. - Pete L
The Marabino winery is located in Noto in the south-east of Sicily in the 'Buonivini' and 'Barone' regions of the renowned DOC districts of 'Eloro' and 'Noto'. Established in 2002 the winery overlooks 35 hectares of vineyards, its terracotta colour dominating the surrounding landscape. Marabino uses an organic and biodynamic philosophy in producing the finest grapes. The winery focuses mainly on the native vines of the region – Moscato di Noto and Nero d'Avola, together with a careful selection of Chardonnay clones. Marabino is now recognised as one of the top producers of fine wines from this area. There is no sulphur added to these wines in the winemaking. - Importer Note
