Tasting Notes
“Brilliant violet color. Mineral- and spice-tinged dark berry, olive and incense aromas pick up a floral accent with aeration. Sappy and lively on the palate, offering gently chewy cherry, black raspberry and floral pastille flavors, with a hint of smoky minerality. Closes on a spicy, cracked pepper note, with very good tenacity and subtle tannins coming in slowly.” Josh Reynolds | Vinous Media | 91 Points
Domaine Alain Voge is one of Cornas’s celebrated estates, established in the 1960s by Alain Voge, who transformed neglected terraces into a benchmark for the appellation. The domaine now spans around 13 hectares, including prized Syrah vineyards on steep, decomposed granite slopes, and biodynamic farming has been practiced since 2013. Under current winemaker Lionel Fraisse, the estate continues to craft intensely expressive, site-driven wines—fermented with native yeasts, aged thoughtfully in barrel, and marked by both precision and palpable sense of place. Renowned for both its Cornas reds and Marsanne whites from Saint-Péray, Domaine Alain Voge remains a touchstone of authenticity and elegance in the Northern Rhône.
