Tasting Notes
Drawn from parcels across Barolo and neighbouring communes, the Classico is Brezza’s most approachable expression of Nebbiolo. Aromas of red cherry, rose petal and sweet herbs are backed by subtle spice and earthy undertones. The palate is supple and elegant, with juicy red fruit carried by fine tannins and bright acidity, finishing fresh and balanced. A classic, transparent Barolo that shows the estate’s traditional style and offers early accessibility without sacrificing depth. - Chris L
Brezza is a historic, family-run estate in Barolo, with roots dating back to 1885. Based in the village of Barolo itself, the Brezza family farms around 23 hectares of vineyards, including holdings in some of the region’s most celebrated crus such as Cannubi, Castellero and Sarmassa. Farming is certified organic, with a philosophy built on respect for the land, traditional viticulture and minimal chemical inputs to preserve soil vitality and biodiversity.
In the cellar, winemaking is resolutely classic: fermentations in concrete, long macerations, and ageing in large Slavonian oak botti. The style is transparent, pure and firmly rooted in Nebbiolo’s natural elegance and structure, producing Barolo wines that are perfumed, balanced and age-worthy. Alongside Barolo, Brezza also produces Barbera, Dolcetto and Nebbiolo d’Alba, all crafted with the same traditional touch.
Today, Brezza is regarded as a benchmark of traditional Barolo, offering wines of authenticity and grace that honour both the family’s long history and the unique terroirs of their vineyards.
