Tasting Notes
A very good and serious entry level orange wine from Denavolo of Emilia Romagna (Italy). Made from an odd combination of Malvasia, Ortuga and Marsanne, with time on skins varying from 4-7 months depending on vintage.
Think of something like Nashi Pear and Tamarillo combined. So not about fresh fruit tastes; but oh so tasty. A white purposely made like a red, tannins and all. I can't stress how much these wines need food - nothing too particular, but I've found they work better with foods with some oil. These wines are all about feeling, life and sensation. Extremely complex in nature and rather tannic on the finish. - Chris L / Michael L
Denavolo is the personal estate of La Stoppa winemaker Giulio Armani. The estate is located in Travo, 11km south of La Stoppa and sits at elevation of 500 metres. The biodynamic vineyard is planted to Malvasia di Candia, Ortuga, Marsanne and an old unidentified local variety. - Importer Note
