Tasting Notes
Les Longeroies is a locality located in the northern part of the appellation. The plot of 3 ha consists of 70-year-old vines, in a beautiful south-east exposure on predominantly clayey soils that require full maturity of the grapes to obtain quality tannins. You will taste with Marsannay Longeroies a deep wine built on the quality of its tannins. Its nose is slowly revealed to the air and gives a distinguished complexity that mixes blueberry, cherry, hibiscus flowers, fresh hazelnut, white pepper. You will discover a mouth of great consistency and a long and fresh finish that reveals a liquorice note. It is one of the best terroirs of the Marsannay appellation, with obvious aging potential. You can prepare the wine in advance (opening or carafage) for the first 5 years. You will be able to keep it 15 to 20 years without problem.
Vinified according to the vintages with 50% whole bunches, the aging lasts about 12 months in 20% new barrels and 6 months of vats. - Importer Note
Less is more! Minimal intervention or Lo-fi wines encapsulate those producers who keep additions and manipulations to a minimum during the winemaking process. This means the wines are wild fermented, unfiltered and unfined, and only add sulfur during the process.
