Tasting Notes
One of the greatest rosé wines of Champagne and a wine of haunting finesse. The blend is 65% Pinot Noir and 35% Chardonnay with 60% with 40% vin de réserve. Then there is the 5% of Egly’s Côteaux Champenois Rouge (the finest red wine of the AOC, in our opinion) that gives the wine its colour and a great deal of character to boot. Dosage is a negligible 3 g/L. The fruit is from 100% Grand Cru vines, grown by one of the most meticulous vignerons of the region. Unbelievably fine, perfumed and ‘Pinot’-fruited, this is something truly special. - Importer Note
'Few producers can equal Francis Egly in skill and experience, and larger houses cannot hope to emulate the cultivation norms, " - Michel Bettane, The World's Greatest Wines.
'What Larmandier-Bernier achieves with Chardonnay, so Egly-Ouriet manages for Pinot Noir: wines of riveting purity and concentration. " - Andrew Jefford, The New France
