Tasting Notes
Drawn from five distinct limestone-rich terroirs across the Mâconnais, this is great drinking. Really classic Chardonnay from Macon that drinks like the top end of Bourgogne Blancs that are typically twice the price. It's fuller and rounder leading out with fruit and not dominated by oak or winemaking. It's a very smart wine. - Pete L

Famille Paquet is a dynamic, family-run wine estate located in the Mâconnais region of Southern Burgundy, France, at the foot of the famous Solutré and Vergisson rocks. Established in 1980 by Jocelyne and Michel Paquet as Domaine des Valanges, the estate is now managed by their three sons—Jean-Baptiste, Mathieu, and Camille—who rebranded it to reflect their shared vision and modern approach to winemaking.
The brothers have radically transformed the domain's viticultural practices, committing entirely to environmental respect through certified organic farming, with the first fully organic vintage achieved in 2021. Their winemaking philosophy is rooted in minimal intervention, focusing on allowing the unique Chardonnay terroir to express itself. This includes using native yeasts for spontaneous fermentation and largely avoiding oak aging, instead utilizing stainless steel and concrete tanks to preserve freshness, minerality, and vibrant acidity in their wines.
Famille Paquet cultivates approximately 30 hectares across 50 individual plots, producing a portfolio of highly regarded white Burgundy wines under the Mâcon-Villages, Saint-Véran, and Pouilly-Fuissé appellations. They are celebrated for creating elegant, accessible, and pure Chardonnay wines that offer excellent value and a clear expression of their Mâconnais origins.
