Tasting Notes

The nose is fresh and expressive, showing orchard fruits, citrus peel and hints of almond and white flowers. On the palate it strikes a beautiful balance between generosity and tension: ripe apple and stone fruit notes sit over a chalky mineral core, with subtle pastry and spice from extended lees ageing. The mousse is fine and persistent, carrying through to a clean, saline finish that invites another glass. An elegant, characterful grower Champagne that is equally at home as an aperitif or at the table. - Chris L

This is an incredible Champagne for the price. The nose opens with some tightly wound lemons, apple and saltiness which only becomes more prominent the longer it has been open. Fairly low levels of CO2 gives this a more vinous and perhaps more food-friendly feel. The palate is even saltier than the nose and there's a crisp acid backbone. - Aaron C.

Huré Frères is a grower Champagne estate based in the village of Ludes, on the northern slopes of the Montagne de Reims. Run today by brothers François and Pierre Huré, the domaine has built a reputation for precise, characterful wines that highlight both the family’s vineyards and their thoughtful, modern approach.

The family farms around 10 hectares across Ludes and neighbouring villages, with plantings dominated by Pinot Meunier, supported by Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The vineyards are managed sustainably, with an emphasis on soil health and careful observation rather than heavy intervention. Their philosophy of “viticulture raisonnée” seeks balance in the vines and fruit that reflects its place of origin.

In the cellar, fermentations are carried out in both stainless steel and oak, with long lees ageing and carefully judged dosage used to achieve depth and refinement. The range begins with the Invitation Brut NV – an introduction to the house style – and extends to single-vineyard and vintage bottlings that show the nuance of individual sites. Across the range, the wines are known for their clarity, textural finesse and mineral length.

Huré Frères stands among the new generation of grower-producers who are reshaping Champagne, delivering wines that combine authenticity and terroir with an elegant, contemporary edge.
