Tasting Notes
A light - medium bodied Shiraz which offers notes of black cherry, plums, dried apple & savoury spice. Made fron 3 seperate parcels of fruit that were picked & wild fermented seperately to build complexity. The wine was aged in french puncheons for 12months before bottling & has settled nicely into the bottle over the past 12months. It is bright & engaging now & will continue to develop with further cellaring. Alc 13% - Winery Note
We planted our first vines on our first Hunter Valley property in 1981. In 1997 we moved to a picturesque property in Broke Fordwich and planted a much larger 48 acre vineyard. We completed courses in wine processing and viticulture at Kurri Kurri Tafe and later attended a Rudolph Steiner Agriculture course. This course was hugely influential and impacted immediately on our overall approach to viticulture and farming. By early 2002, we were fully committed to Biodynamics and commenced to manage our farm organically and biodynamically. Krinklewood Vineyard became fully certified biodynamic by 2007.
Krinklewood is a boutique Hunter Valley winery and vineyard in which every member of the family contributes significantly. We, together with our great team of vineyard and cellar door staff, are all committed and 'hands on' in the daily biodynamic operations of the vineyard and farm and delight in the fact that 'what you put in is what you get back'. - Winery Note
