Tasting Notes
A classic Cali Chard, modestly ripe fruit here with some tasteful oak presence. Apples, lemon and white peach and a soft spice and toasty character on the nose with some much-appreciated density on the palate. Definitely worth trying in this 375ml format if you haven’t tied many Chardonnays from Sonoma. - Aaron C.
La Crema was founded in 1979 in Sonoma County, California, and has grown into one of the region’s most recognisable names for cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The winery built its reputation on producing site-driven wines that highlight the unique terroirs of the Sonoma Coast, and over time has expanded to include vineyards in Monterey, Mendocino, Anderson Valley, and Oregon’s Willamette Valley.
Viticulture is rooted in sustainable farming, with careful site selection in cool, maritime-influenced areas that encourage slow ripening and balanced acidity. In the cellar, the approach combines modern precision with traditional techniques: hand harvesting, small-lot fermentation, and judicious use of French oak to enhance complexity without overwhelming fruit purity.
La Crema’s wines are celebrated for their balance, freshness and approachability, delivering vivid fruit expression with structure and poise. Across the range—from bright Monterey Chardonnay to elegant Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir—La Crema captures the essence of cool-climate winemaking in California and beyond.
