Tasting Notes
An organic, equal-parts blend of Nebbiolo from Lalù’s two estate sites, this is a beautifully perfumed and finely tuned expression. Fruit from the cool, east-facing Roncaglie parcel in La Morra brings tension, lift and a clay-driven depth, while the sandier Bussia Bovi block in Monforte contributes supple red fruit and gentle aromatic charm. Mostly destemmed with whole berries retained for a touch of semi-carbonic lift, the wine was fermented in concrete, with Bussia raised entirely in tank and Roncaglie matured in large foudre. The result is a vivid, translucent style showing red cherry, anise and sarsaparilla, framed by bright acidity and a neatly woven tannin profile. It’s expressive yet tightly coiled, rewarding a decant or a few hours of air to reveal its purity and quiet complexity. - Aaron C
Less is more! Minimal intervention or Lo-fi wines encapsulate those producers who keep additions and manipulations to a minimum during the winemaking process. This means the wines are wild fermented, unfiltered and unfined, and only add sulfur during the process.
