Tasting Notes
We received sample bottles from the good folk at Main and Cherry and so duly tasted the wines as a group. We were thrilled with what these wines deliver. The Sangiovese is softly savory with a lick of bright fruit on the mid palate and a light, dusty tannin structure. This is a very good Sangiovese (and although I hate to compare it with Chianti) if you want to buy Italian wine like Chianti but have a budget that doesn't stretch to Chianti this is the wine that you should be considering. Main & Cherry is a family owned vineyard in Cherry Gardens, Adelaide Hills dedicated to handcrafting small-batch wines. Together with our home block of Shiraz, we also source grapes from passionate growers in other pockets of the Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale, taking advantage of the vast diversity of the soils and climates of these great regions. All of our wines begin in the vineyard, from the soil up, where nature handles the big things and we gently guide along the rest with intuition, patience and passion.
