Tasting Notes
Hands down the best Cremant de Bourgogne I've tried. This is 100% Pinot Noir from the Cote Chalonaise and the quality of fruit and winemaking here in immediately obvious. If I was handed this blind I'd be calling good Grower Champagne... There are layers of delicate red fruit that sit atop flaky shortcrust pastry heading into laminated dough territory (croissant) supported by ripe citrus and orchard fruit. There is a very small amount of dosage used keeping the wine nice and dry while maintaining fruit ripeness. There is length and persistence to the wine thats guided by citrus acidity and chalky grip. - Pete L
Nathalie controls every aspect of her wine and she was the first woman to have the tittle Vigneron and Oenologist. She is to this day one of the very few women in Champagne to carry out both jobs simultaneously. And she does it with innervation and with dazzling results. Her vineyards are nestled in the heart of the vibrant Côte des Bar region where different soil (Kimmeridgian marl topped by Portlandian limestone) and climate (higher temps due to humid Atlantic influence plus continental influences) ripens the Pinot making her wines fuller in character. The Cuvée Brut is composed of 80% Pinot noir and 20% Chardonnay. - Importer Note
