Tasting Notes

A dry white made from the little known variety Jacquere, home in Savoie. This textural yet fresh, sur lie style white wine is delicious, precise and perfect for a lot of our Australian cuisine. Best served chilled with seafood and I especially enjoyed it with shellfish. - Chris L

This family owned estate started after World War One when Andre Quenard's parents aquired the property situated on the hills of Tormery in the town of Chignin. Until then, only Noble people owned land in this mountainous area, but with the financial pressure that WW1 placed on them, they were forced to sell to the farmers. This is how this much acclaimed family domaine started. In 1976, Michel took over from his father, bringing in a wealth of qualification from the Beaune institute of Oenology. Michel and now his son Guillaume have been recognised for many years as pioneers of the Vin de Savoie appelation and sustainable farming technics as well as limited yields showcases wines of extreme purity. The diversity of soils represented in each variety is mainly due to the very steep slopes of the snow capped moutains on which Michel cultivates his vines. Most of them are facing South towards the Alps, which makes it a perfect ripening climate.
