Tasting Notes
Black cherry. Rhubarb. Silky. Fine tannins.Grapes sourced from a vineyard with dry-mudstone / shale-based soil, producing small bunches with minimal canopy, creating an intensity in the fruit, and a savoury, brooding pinot.
Best enjoyed with food that will complement the wine’s aromas. It will sing when paired with light meats and mushroom dishes. Drink now, or cellar for up to 10 years. - Winemaker Note
Chris Catlow founded Sentio in 2013 after stints working alongside some of Beechworth’s most respected names. A native of the region, Chris takes a thoughtful, almost architectural approach to winemaking, seeking precision and purity across his range. The vineyards he works with sit high in the hills of Beechworth and nearby King Valley, providing cool nights and long ripening seasons that deliver exceptional balance.
Sentio wines are marked by their clarity and restraint – Chardonnay, Nebbiolo and Pinot Noir lead the way, showing fine detail and mineral drive, while Syrah, Gamay and other small-batch releases highlight the depth and diversity of the regions. Chris’ focus is always on letting site and season speak, with sensitive handling in the cellar, wild ferments, and minimal new oak. These are modern, finely tuned Beechworth wines that capture both elegance and vitality.
