Tasting Notes
This has everything you could ask for from a Chianti Classico - juicy red fruits comprised of red cherry, cranberry, red plum as well as roses and rosemary too. Very fresh on the palate and light on its feet with infinite food pairing possibilities. - Aaron C.
Tenuta Orsumella is a family-owned winery in the hills of San Casciano in Val di Pesa, at the northern edge of Chianti Classico. The estate is managed by the Menichetti family, who oversee about 25 hectares of vineyards planted primarily to Sangiovese, along with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, at altitudes between 300 and 450 metres. The soils are a mix of galestro, alberese and clay, well-suited to producing wines with both structure and finesse.
Certified organic, the estate is committed to sustainable viticulture, careful hand harvesting and minimal cellar intervention to preserve fruit purity and terroir expression. Ageing takes place in a thoughtful mix of oak casks and barriques, balancing tradition with a modern sensibility. The range includes Chianti Classico, Chianti Classico Riserva and Gran Selezione, as well as Toscana IGT bottlings that showcase international varieties.
Tenuta Orsumella’s wines are marked by freshness, elegance and fine tannin structure, embodying both the character of Chianti Classico and the family’s focus on authenticity and balance.
